United Methodist Response Begins in Haiti

Tragedy struck the already-beleaguered nation of Haiti on January 12. The magnitude-7 earthquake effectively flattened the capital city of Port-au-Prince, affecting an estimated 3 million people and killing untold tens of thousands.

UMCOR Relief Efforts One Month after Quake  The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), with the help of the Methodist Church in Haiti, has leased office space in Port-au-Prince and hired staff to advance the work plan that was drawn up by a team of UMCOR executives that assessed damages and needs following the January 12 earthquake.
