Tues and Thurs Our classes for these young children are based on the importance of a loving, secure environment where the child can have its first interaction with caregivers outside the home. A first experience with peers is also an important part of adjustment for the young child. Small groups, well-planned activities and loving adults make these classes wonderful first experiences for the 9 to 23 month old. Two-Year Old Classes

Two’s (Add-a-Friday) F Often this is the age when most children have their first opportunity to spend extended time away from home. It is their first chance to make new friends and learn new things. Our classes are small so personal attention is possible and individual needs can be met. Learning to be part of a group, sharing, taking turns and following directions are fundamental learning skills that begin in this age group. Three-Year Old Classes

or T-W-Th The three year old is an active, willing learner who looks on everything around him in a curious light. These children are eager to find out the how and why of things. Busy hands and bright minds greet each new learning opportunity. Our three year old classes provide an atmosphere of center based, hands-on learning. The child, through various units, can explore, begin to find where he belongs and learn his role in the world. Pre-K Four-Year Old Classes
3-Day Pre-K Class T-W-Th
5-Day Pre-K Class M-F The pre-kindergarten program for four year olds at ACEC is a developmentally appropriate one, offering a rich child centered environment. Curriculum is integrated to address the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of the children. The learning environment is center based, giving children the opportunity to explore and make choices. It fosters their abilities to think independently, logically and creatively. The program encourages children to be responsible members of the class by learning to share and care for materials. Literacy development is encouraged by the children’s exposure to print in meaningful ways. They are encouraged to express themselves through drawing and writing. Each child’s individual differences in growth and development are always recognized and accepted. Each one’s unique personality and learning style is considered at all times. Student-Teacher Ratio

Pre-K: 14 Students – 1 Teacher – 1 Aide Extended Care HoursACEC offers an extended hour program for children enrolled in Two year-old through Pre-K classes. This program is offered first to ACEC families who need a two to five day per week service, on a monthly basis. It is offered September through May in conjunction with our regular ACEC program. If space is available, arrangements for occasional (drop in) care can be made by pre-paid reservation 24 hours in advance in the ACEC office. Monday – Friday
